Why did you join your network marketing company? There's a good chance you were introduced by a friend or college. There are a lot of different reasons that people join a company, but how do you know that you're joining the MLM company that is best for you? Most would say that they joined to create an extra stream of income, but have you thought about what may happen if your company went out of business? Picking a network marketing company that has a strong foundation is key to creating a lasting income that is safe from the elements of an unknown economy.

Do what you love. With so many companies to chose from there is bound to be a product or line of products that you can be passionate about. The reason that many people fail at their first company is because it's not something they are passionate about. It's easy to talk about something you love, it's much harder to promote something you don't have a burning passion for. Once you've narrowed the choices down to what you love, you can tailor that even more. You can decide if you want to work for an older established company that is established and deemed safe or you can chose a company that is newer and get in on the ground floor.

While comparing, look at your prospective companies' compensation plans. You'll want to find out the following information: How much commission you will earn for selling the product? How much you will earn for sponsoring other people into your company? Next, you'll want to find out the different ways you can build your downline. That way you can maximize the compensation plan to your benefit.

Good training is imperative. You will want to find out what training systems they have in place. Do they offer CD's, DVD's, Online video sharing, etc. Knowing that a network marketing company is largely dependent on the success of their distributors, a solid company will offer solid training materials. It is worth its weight in gold!

Good leadership is as equally important as good training. Network marketing has long been known as an industry where you work for yourself but not by yourself. It is imperative you find a good mentor. One key to success is to find someone that has achieved your desired success and model what they're doing. Then be proactive and do what that person has done.

There are several options to choose from. While it can be intimidating at first, the benefit is that you are guaranteed to find something that works for you. When you base your choice on the above criteria you are bound for success!
