Outsourcing can be defined as a process whereby an organization that is swamped by huge work loads employs the services of a third party to perform certain tasks on its behalf on contract terms. This means that the two parties sign a binding contract to exchange services and payment. Unlike traditionally when outsourcing could only be done in the same country, times have changed, and with it , many organizations are now able to seek outsourcing services outside the nation, a process that is aptly referred to as offshore outsourcing.

Meanwhile, it is possible to find outsourcing services in virtually any type of business, what with the world becoming a small village through the wonder of technology. For instance, by using an email service provider one organization is able, with a computer that is connected to the Internet, to work on behalf of another one, while at the same time conversing in regard to the progress of the job with the outsourcing company. The contractor is then ready to work under the supervision that would in most cases be extended by the outsourcing company or organization.

The terms of paying for the services rendered depend on the terms of the contract, although many bidders do so via a customer service provider site, and payment gets to them the same way.
