At first, one may think that purchasing one of these new hi-tech gadgets would help your teenager break the traffic rules and encourage unsafe driving. However; it can actually make them more aware of the many things that they need to pay attention to.

Even the most seasoned drivers are getting caught unaware of the speeding cameras that are being used today. With the cut in budgets, there are not as many traffic police out there. Law enforcement is resorting to technology to take place of an actual body. If you are speeding past an area that is monitored by a speed camera, you can wind up with a traffic ticket in the mail.

Speed camera detectors work the same way that radar detectors do. They pick the frequency and audibly alert the driver of its presence. If the driver does not slow down, the audio alert will continue until you are out of range or reduce the speed of the vehicle. Depending on what state you live in, they may be considered illegal.
