Do You Really Need A Fitness Routine To Get In Shape?

The answer is yes, in order to get in shape, it is very important that you put together a work-out routine that is not only practical but also sensible. The quality of your life depends on three major factors: your health, physical fitness and your appearance.

Good health is very important because without a reasonable degree of fitness, we cannot enjoy the things we do or want to do. Your appearance has a huge impact on others. A body which is healthy and physically fit always appears pleasing and therefore, increases our self-esteem by leaps and bounds. Naturally, healthy eating habits and exercise are the most important as far as getting in shape is concerned. Some essentials tips are as follows:

1. Exercise regularly: To get in shape it is important that there is a tinge of stability and uniformity to your routine. Exercising at least 5 times a week is good enough- you don't have to spend your life at the gym.

2. Procedure: How you do what you do is more important than how much you do. In other words, it is important that you know the right technique when exercising is concerned.

3. Start slowly: It is essential that you start slowly. Exercising for an hour or so on day 1 will strain your muscles because your body is not used to this routine. Give your body some time to cope up and then slowly increase the overall duration of your exercise regime.

4. Duration: Exercise daily for a minimum of 30 minutes. This can be done at a stretch, once you get a hang of it.

5. Warm up: Before doing any strenuous exercise such as weight lifting, it is important to warm up. Warming up before, between and after certain exercises helps to relax the muscles.

6. Variety: Doing the same exercise daily seems quite boring- try to change your work out routine frequently by shuffling the sequence of your exercises, skipping some exercises for a few days and adding new exercises.

7. Breathing: Breathe the right way. Holding your breath during exertion may increase your blood pressure.

8. Yoga: Earlier yoga was considered a spiritual activity and performed by sages and rishis. But now a days, it is considered to be the best way to get in shape as yoga's health benefits surpass the benefits of any other activity.

9. Meditation: Meditation helps to heal the mind and the body. It is primarily a personal and spiritual experience. It helps us understand our capacity and ability - basically, how strong we are.

10. Healthy food habits: One important rule to remember is- don't eat anything that is doused in trans fat, sugars and oil. Instead, you should eat food which is healthy and rich in protein, vitamins and minerals like green vegetables, fresh fruits, cereals, fish, sprouts, etc

11. Relaxation: Take out some time every day to do the things you love to do - gardening, watching television, reading, dancing, etc.
