Many people have heard of lactose intolerance but many do not know about yeast intolerance. Yeast intolerance becomes a problem for people when their body over produces Candida albicans, yeast (fungal) organism that exists in everyone's intestinal tract.
You will find that Candida can grow and thrive in all facets of your body that is damp, wet or moist. It will find your intestinal tract as well vaginal and oral areas as prime locations for growth. Our systems normally are protected by the "good" bacteria that helps our body control negative health threateners. Many times we experience that these fungi growHowever, sometimes they grow beyond tolerance levels in excess of what is required. The infected person suffers from yeast intolerance and a disease called candidiasis.
If your overall health is not robust and your daily diet is not balanced, your system and tolerance to Candida could be compromised. The fungi typically thrive on simple and concentrated sugars, mold containing foods and yeast containing foods like bread. They also thrive on fermented foods like cheese, and alcohol.
By keeping your health robust and your diet balanced you should be able to keep this yeast fungi under control. Sickness and our stressful lives can cause Candida to spread rapidly. The wonder drugs we use today can also be aproblem because they often kill the "good" germs as well. Other possible causes of Candida include a hormone imbalance, and poor nutrition.
By not eating a balanced diet with all the vitamins and minerals included we can compromise our system and not fight the Candida with the poisons that come with it. Often when we have this condition all we want is ice cream, cookies, pies and cakes as well as any food or fluids that are high in yeast. The problem can be treated with a special candidiasis diet that avoids the foods on which Candida thrives. You should also ask your family physician what medicines that he would recommend, you should ask him about some of the statins.
Symptoms of yeast intolerance include bloating and excess gas, diarrhea and headaches. A person might also suffer from mouth ulcers and a furry or coated tongue.
The only way for a person who is yeast intolerant to completely eliminate its symptoms is to follow a yeast-free diet. This change may last for the rest of their lives or just until the symptoms have subsided. Sometimes high yeast foods can successfully be re-introduced into the diet once the correct balance of yeast has been reached.
Typically it is recommended that the diet be followed for a period of three weeks to three months before any high yeast foods be re-introduced into the diet.
