Is The Causes Of Sweating Down To What You Eat?
Words: 563 | Date: Tue, 19 Oct 2010

Over sweating, can result in embarrassment and inconvenience on a day to day basis. Whatever you are doing you exhibit sweat patches in your armpits, chest and back as well as on your hands and feet. In fact, your excessive sweating can even be triggered by feelings of anxiety, frustration and anger since the sympathetic nerve system, which is the central control for sweat production becomes over stimulated.

Although the causes of sweating are many from tumors to neurological damage, you should not immediately assume the worst. In fact, these serious causes for excessive sweating rarely occur in the general population. Instead, your hyperhydrosis may only be the result of the foods and beverages consumed on a daily basis.

How Food Affects Sweating

What we put into our bodies affects how well our bodies function inside and outside. Thus, we always hear health experts emphasizing a healthy diet in the prevention and treatment of various illnesses and injuries as well as in the delay of the signs of aging. A healthy diet of course, consists of one filled with fruits, legumes, whole grains, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, meat, poultry and low-fat dairy products.

Now, when your diet consists of less-than-healthy foods, your body suffers. You will become more susceptible to injuries and illnesses. You will develop more toxins in the body. You will have difficulty in regulating the bodily processes involved in normal functions including sweat production.

Indeed, your diet may most likely be one of the culprits. As such, you should focus more on the ways with which to control your diet so as to control your sweating from the inside. Keep in mind that, no matter how hard you try to control sweat on the outside - taking regular baths, applying deodorants and powder, and using absorbent pads - your body cannot regulate itself from the inside and so you will still excessively sweat.

How to Change Your Diet

With that being said, you must change your diet to help your body achieve normal sweat production. don't worry about going on a fasting diet as these diet changes are easy to adopt in everyday life. You must eliminate the following foods in your diet starting today.

- Sugar is one of the main causes of sweating because it can raise the body temperature and, thus, stimulate sweating. Since your sugar high is short-lived, you will want to eat more sugar to be high again and so, the cycle of sugar-and-sweat begins again and again.

- Spices like chilies and peppers contain the chemical known as capsaicin, which stimulates the nerve endings of the mucus membranes and the skin. In the process, the skin feels hot and the body produces more sweat to drive away the capsaicin.

- Monosodium glutamate (MSG) causes a variety of side effects like headaches, flushing and nausea that, in turn, causes the body to sweat more.

- Caffeine stimulates the nervous system, which can also produce excessive sweating.

I recommend going for the foods that inhibit the causes of sweating instead of these foods. Drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins as well as eating more whole grains, nuts, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, watermelons, kiwis and oranges.
