Recent study showed that margarine consumption has a detrimental effect on children's IQ levels (1). While all these fake butter type of products are promoted as healthy options instead of butter the truth is that it is a toxic product that can cause chronic inflammation. Margarine is a synthetic man made trans type of fat. The raw materials are liquid vegetable oils which are subjected to high temperatures and dangerous toxic chemicals in order to produce the solid spreadable margarine. This procedures it goes through is the reason why margarine is not healthy. Another study proved that margarine consumption lowers HDL (good cholesterol) and raises LDL (bad cholesterol), a super dangerous combination for heart attack (2).
Another study, (3) tracked people for 20 years and recorded the number of heart attacks suffered and is also backed up by the world-famous Framingham Heart Study. The results are in complete disagreement with everything we have been told so far. As margarine consumption increased, heart attacks went up. As butter consumption increased, heart attacks declined. During the second decade, the group eating the most margarine had 77% more heart attacks than the group eating none!
