There are many forms of advertising that can accomplish this feat, but today we will discuss the different forms of advertising online. The internet is such a vast portal of information that it is quite simple to specifically target a certain audience and then capitalize off of them in the form of sales.

The first form of online advertising is known as pay per click and is usually associated with some of the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, and MSN. This is exactly how the search engines make their money. Just as billboards located near major highways produce major sales, add placements on the major search engines are quite similar. In this form of online advertising, advertisers are only charged when a surfer clicks on their ad. Within the realm of this form, there are many customizations that can be made to increase the click through rate. The ad's wording can be customized to the customer's wishes, along with the keywords that it will appear for. The amount of money that each click costs an advertiser depends on the keyword. Campaigns are created that specify the amount of money that will be spent each day. So those using this form of online advertising do not have to worry about how many times their ad will be clicked each day and consequently, how much can be totaled up in a day's time.

Another form of online advertising involves paying for ad space on specific websites. If you are going to participate in this form of marketing, then it is vital to find websites that are related to the product or service that you are selling. Rather than paying a certain amount for each click, this type of online promotion involves a monthly charge. So how much does it cost to do this? The answer is that each website will have its own set rates for the amount of money that it costs to occupy an ad space per month. Websites with a great deal of traffic will more than likely cost more than those that have a limited amount of visitors. Remember that the more exposure that you ad gets, the more likely you are to produce sales.There are many variations within these two forms of online advertising, but the basic concept is still the same.
