So you have thought up of a business you want to get into and you are looking into how much it will cost you to start it up and you realize you will have to cut some of the costs or risk not being able to get your fantastic business idea from paper to reality. Well here is where modern technology and new ideas in business management can give you the leg-up you need to bring that exciting new business idea out there so you can start raking in the rewards and fulfilling your dreams.
One of the latest trends is something called virtual assistance. These are people who have set up office management services and will act as your secretary, bookkeeper, events planner, researcher, customer service, etc. The beautiful part is that you don't have to make space for them in your office, pay them an annual salary, give them vacation leaves or sick leaves, pay employment taxes for them or buy them office equipment or even train them. You don't even have to see them at all because everything between you and your virtual assistant will be handled through phone, fax or email.
Let's look at the benefits you reap by choosing this option. First, you save yourself a lot of time recruiting employees, interviewing them, negotiating with them and then training them. Next, you save yourself a lot of money on office space and office equipment, which, if you're looking to minimize your start-up costs, will be a godsend. Third, you will not have the continuing expense of salaries, bonuses, paid vacation and sick leaves, holiday pay and taxes to worry about, which will be an added boost to your bottom line once the business gets rolling.
However, let us look and see if this option is actually the answer to your current situation. Does the business or you need someone to be there all the time catering to your every command? Do you need work done on a specific daily schedule which you also can control? Is there so much work that you just need someone at hand all the time? Do you need to supervise and check the work all the time and be given updates at every turn? Then virtual assistance will not work for you.
This option will only be feasible if you can't afford a regular employee, or there is not enough work to merit a regular employee, or if maybe you will have to travel a lot for the business or are going to start off the business in your home. A virtual assistant will also work for someone who does not want to be bothered with supervising or managing an employee.
With these facts in hand, you can now take a closer look at what you really need and make that decision, go for the virtual or stick to the traditional.
