1. The headline is key. It must be a short sentence that grabs people's attention and makes them stop what they are doing.Use strong emotional words that convey loss if they don't read the rest of the page or the gain they will receive if they do.
2. Ensure all the information you want to convey is "above the fold" that is the reader does not have to scroll down to see the body copy and call to action. Long sales pages or opt in pages are on the way out so keep it short.
3. Use emotional language that touch people's emotional buttons. Avoid long academic words or any corporate speak.Use punchy sharp short words.
4. Do not have more than three sentences in any one paragraph. A mass on text will put people off. These days people like to see lots of gaps between sentences,it makes reading easier.
4. Pre-headline. This goes above the headline and qualifies the reader. So for example in could say " attention all internet marketers" if that is the niche you want to attract. They are then more likely to read the rest of the page.

8. The call to action- an absolute must. On a squeeze page you are wanting an email address so have a big read arrow pointing to the right side of the page .This is where you place you opt in box. Only ask for their first name and email. Have the opt in button read " give me instant access now" or similar phrase. Avoid "click here" very boring.
9. Have an earnings disclaimer, privacy policy and contact link in the footer. This links to another page on website. Google likes to see these links and will improve your quality score if you are using adwords.
