For anyone that has a website, the marketing question that always keeps surfacing is what are the ways of driving traffic to your site. While there are dozens of ways for getting more visitors, many of them are derivations off of three. So what three ways top the list for getting more traffic?

Article Marketing Article marketing is perhaps the granddaddy of driving traffic to your site. That is because you can both use the articles on your own site as well as "distribute" the articles to various directories and other sites as well.

Basically you write, or pay someone else to write, an article. A good length is usually at least 350 words to about 550 words. More than that and in many subjects, the reader will get bored.

You can do a few things once you have your article. You can place it on your website or you can submit it to one of the hundreds of article directories. One of the biggest of them all is EZINE Articles. Do not forget to add a signature box to your articles and place one to two links that lead back to one of your websites.

Another driving traffic strategy that is a bit more advanced is to "spin" your article. You can do it yourself or use a software tool that helps you do it. Using this method you can create from 2 to 100's of versions of the same article. Just make sure that you have made them somewhat unique and added new titles. Now you really have something to submit to many directories thereby creating even more links, which will bring in even more traffic to your site.

Social Bookmarking A newer form of traffic generation is Social Bookmarking. Huge volumes have been written about the subject since it is so broad and vast. In a very simplistic way, social bookmarking is where you create links on various sites, most of which are called bookmarking sites, that link back to either your articles or your web sites.

Social bookmarking can be done by hand or you can sign up for various products that can help you bookmark more sites and pages than by hand.

One suggestion for whichever way you go is that you do not bookmark every page of every site or article at one time. You want to "drip" them in which means slowly adding links over time so that it looks natural and not suspicious.

Video Creation Perhaps the newest addition to driving traffic to your site is video creations. Video marketing has just come on strong in the last two to three years and has taken off tremendously. With over 70% of the online population using videos, who wouldn't choose that as a method of promoting your marketing message?

You can use a video camera or just create basic videos from your computer. There are tons of easy ways to create cool videos that help drive more traffic to your sites. And some of the most watched videos are as simply as can be.

Clearly there are a number of excellent ways to get more traffic to your site. The biggest hurdle is taking that first step. And once you see the results come in, you'll realize not only how easy it is but also what great results you get.
