Article marketing is one of the key promotional methods on the internet marketing scene. However, many people have abused the concept and now article directories are rejecting more articles than ever and many do not offer "dofollow" links any more. You never know which articles are going to be successful which is why you write a large number of them.

Myth #2: Another myth that still surrounding article marketing strategies is that you need to submit your article to hundreds of directories. In reality, you will find that the niche that you are focusing on will only create conversions in a handful of article directories.

After submitting your first 5 or 10 articles, wait a few weeks and it will become easy to see which directories are the most effective. Then you can focus more of your time on writing and submitting articles to those directories instead of submitting them to directories that will not create any conversions.

The only reason that you might need to submit your articles to a large number of other directories is if you are trying to use them to gain backlinks.

Myth #3: A final myth about article marketing is that it is solely a numbers game. Some people will tell you that as long as you write X number of articles and submit them to Y number of directories that you will be successful.

In reality, it is more about quality than quantity. Of course, the more articles you write, the better off your article marketing efforts will be. However, volume at the expense of quality is a terrible trade.
