If you haven't heard about the paintball mine until now, don't fret. Although the technology has been around for quite a while, these special paintball items recently just made it to the mainstream market. They are presently making good progress as well.
Much of it came about from the common usage of paintball technology for police and military training maneuvers. In these situations, it is often required for the scenarios to be as realistic as possible while mimicing the real danger involved. The technology has been launched and everyone can now avail of them. Fresh designs still show up and are rather frequent in doing so.
The pressure activated paintball landmine for example, is one product that is speeding-up in its momentum. It's lightweight and small landmine will bring your paintball warfare to a whole new level! Its dimensions are only 4" in diameter by one inch high. It is easily portable too, and you can pack the 11 lbs with no difficulty while you're getting ready for the field. It gets its pressure from a 10 gram CO2 tank which is refillable (in the center of the landmine). Whether you want smoke or paint for a payload it will fire (loudly) with 3 food pounds to deliver the results, and so safe that everyone can go to work the next day (hopefully after cleaning up of course).
The affordable price of these landmines combined with the fact that they are reusable many times makes it a fun new addition to your personal arsenal. Envision the exhilarating feeling when your enemy's foot taps on these mines and you hear it. Or better yet, if you're well-hidden, you might even get to see them for their very first experience with one of these.
In fact you can make your own. There are many ideas focusing on self-made paintball mines, although some aren't that great. There are a few which have a lot of potential to save you a few bucks by making your own paintball landmines. Utilizing the power of the 12 gram co2 cartridge definitely makes a better experience than other designs you may come across out there. The trick is making it loud, and visible. Anything less, is simply child's play, right? Some just pop a paintball and definitely have little impact...
The 12 gram co2 cartridge design is, as mentioned, made up of 2 chambers. The lower chamber is where the co2 resides, sealed by a pin positioned at the bottom of a pressure pad. When pressed, the cartridge releases the co2 and blows it into the upper chamber where you have your payload (usually paint) and sprays it up on the unlucky soul that didn't see it coming.
It's relatively easy to design these landmines yourself. All it takes is a container that can secure the co2 cartridge and simple engineering (creating a round disc with a nail in it that fits, to take the pressure and release the co2). From there, even a simple pressure pad and wet paint will do to color them surprised!
